First, an announcement, in case you missed it last night!
A beautiful, sustaining creative community for writers—rigorous and welcoming, challenging and supportive, robust and intimate—is coming your way starting January 29, 2026!
We’re finally ready to unveil the year-long writing community and craft program based on and evolved from last year’s Writing in the Dark | The SCHOOL.
As you know, I have—in response to your requests to continue SCHOOL—reached out to two writer friends whose work (both writing and teaching) I have long admired: Gina Frangello and Emily Rapp Black. Together, the three of us have been working since summer to envision and create a new container for an ongoing, immersive, and connected community of language lovers who are hungry for both serious craft learning and a true creative home.
The three of us are so excited to bring you “CRAFT SCHOOL,” a vibrant new writing community based on the foundational principal that writing can be taught and supported with both rigor and creative safety. Indeed, I believe this is the only way we truly develop as artists.
This new creative collaboration is for prose writers of all levels who want to deepen and accelerate their craft through dedicated effort with close reading of acclaimed published work, an array of live (virtual) cross-disciplinary instruction, visiting writers and editors, generative writing rooms, publishing talks, small work groups, embodied support through meditation, breathwork, and yoga nidra, and more.
General enrollment begins next week!
But if you are already on the year-long waitlist (or if you join it now), you’ll will be notified by email three days ahead of general enrollment, allowing you access to early registration and a limited-time 10% discount on tuition. So make sure you add your name to the list and watch your email next week.
You can read more in the post I sent out last night, or visit the CRAFT SCHOOL website for full descriptions and/or add your name to the waitlist.
I can’t wait for 2026 and am so happy to have this gorgeous unveiling to welcome a new year and to write with some of you in this deep and joyous way.
As for today—we’re on week two of six in our newest intensive for paid members, The Infinite Small: A Mircoflash Revolution!
We had more than 600 comments and micro flash pieces last week-wowowowowowowowow!!!
