This week, it’s quieter in the world of remote editorial work as many companies prepare to hit snooze for the rest of the year. You’ll find lots of lit mags looking to add to their volunteer reader team this time of year.

As the year draws to a close, my past life as a farmer has me thinking about the cycles of life and how the proverbial field needs to lay fallow to let the soil regenerate. As with all living things, we need periods of rest and rejuvenation, even some silence every now and again. This might be a great time to polish your resumé and sharpen your pencils so that you can be ready for new work opportunities in January.
