This month on Cosmic TV (02-25)

Have you been feeling like reacting to circumstance rather than taking deliberate steps forward in the recent weeks? If so, then you might be sensitive to Mars’s retrograde phase in Cancer, this month’s most prominent astrological feature. The good news: Mars, the planet of action, is going to finally turn direct this month with the promise of some relief and the feeling of slowly being able to move on with our affairs. The bad news is that this will not happen until the end of the month (on February 25, to be exact), and the planetary go-getter won’t be on new territory until the beginning of May. So, from February through April, we might still be busy coping with the fallout of some of the events that rocked our lives in October, early November and January, when Mars was traveling the same degrees in Cancer.

With Mars in the sign of the protective and motherly sign of the Crab, it’s domestic concerns and home-grown issues that that are likely to demand our attention and energy. There is the desire to protect our own home and local turf, whether on the individual or the political level. Approaching things sideways or in a roundabout fashion might be more effective these days than tackling issues head-on. While things seem to progress very slowly, an intense search into the moral and ethical motives underlying our actions as well as an inquiry into our ambitions and goals could help putting us onto a readjusted path once the motor starts running again.

As we are prone to act on our moods and gut feeling rather than on our brains, we tend to be more inconsistent in our actions. However, we’ve got a supportive Mars-Saturn trine throughout the whole month, which provides the necessary discipline and clarity, so that some things actually can get done despite initial resistance. The water signs of Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces will especially benefit from this constellation, and if you have significant planetary placements around 17° in these signs, a grand trine in water can form, which promises a harmonious blend of stability and drive. As in the case of Scorpio Friedrich Merz, CDU’s designated candidate for Chancellor of Germany, for whom this constellation might make the difference on February 23, 2025, the day of the German parliamentary elections:
