The Good News

For me Easter is one of the most wonderful times. I love the focus on Christ’s atonement and sacrifice for us. It’s at this time of year that I can really start believing in change and hope. The western hemisphere itself goes through a major change, from Winter to Spring. From dead to life. From dark to light. I think that can symbolize so many things for us.

I hope to share a bit of how God can do that for us and what it means that he came to this earth and walked among us. I did this in one of the best ways I know how — a poem titled God with us.

God With Us.

I used to think that where He wanted me was where I should be.

I used to think that where I should be was where He wanted me.

I was never where I ‘should’ be, I was never where I ‘could’ be

He was waiting, yes. but not at a distance.

Not at a length that I had to cover.

He was waiting near me, waiting in my dark.

He was in the cave.

He was in the pain.

He was in the failure.

Every moment He was there, around me and with me.

Every place He was there, on both sides of the line.

He was waiting for me to invite Him in.

Into the moment.

With me.

He wanted to be there with me,

He wanted to be in my moment.

Not just my good, but my bad,

My ugly and embarrassing.

The things I try to hide —

He wanted me to understand,

In those moments, what I was looking for, what I was missing, what holes I tried to fill, what pain I tried to cover —

All He wanted was my heart.

He wants my soul —

Not for pride or competition,

but to make me: Who I am, Who I was, And who I will be.

Oh what love,

Oh, what mercy,

Our God with us.

To conclude I would love to share this video that just touches on the hope of Christ and what that can mean for us. I love Him and most importantly, I know that he loves you!
