A blessing for when you feel like giving up
On staying determined determined
Blessed are you who keeps showing up and trying. Who drags your feet to keep your promise to yourself. Who sits down resentfully every day and stares grumpily at your computer screen. Who opens that app with a sigh and begins your work with resignation or trepidation.
Blessed are you who shows up imperfectly— but shows up. Blessed are you who recognises that today’s work wasn’t what you hoped for— but that it’s far more than zero.
Blessed are you who can only just make out that faint trail of incremental progress— even when you’d rather see growth by leaps and bounds.
Blessed are you who can barely hear that still small voice, but keeps trudging away in the dark.
Blessed are you who works without clear signposts or payoffs.
Blessed are you who show up in the early morning, in the late night, without makeup, with a runny nose.
Blessed are you who keeps going.
